Entry 21

July 11th 2008 3:24 P.M.

The gateway had indeed opened. However going home isn’t in the cards for us.
When it opened weeks ago I rushed over to investigate. I made it about halfway when my wife’s face greeted me. I was so happy I thought I might be dreaming. I was then brought to my senses by the sound of a pistol firing, it was held by my father-in-law. Then the searing pain after a tremendous impact in my left leg. I couldn’t help but let out a pathetic yelp of pain as i fell like a sack of potatoes.

My wife stood next to her father with her arms wrapped around her ex-husband Chris. The father of her children. As I lie there bleeding, they explained how much money I had made them and how I was no longer of use. First I felt my heart shatter and eclipse the pain i felt in my leg. Then I felt the next gunshot impact my chest, then everything fell into blackness.

When I’d awakened, my vision was blurry and a searing pain had taken up residence between my lungs. I grasped my chest tightly. I felt blood ooze into my palm. As the warm fluid poured into my hands my whole world was bleeding out as I was. The last thing I remembered was my wife smiling wickedly and then lovingly kissing that man.

According to Billy I was drifting back and forth from the brink of death, but he used his Nano particles to seal my wounds and remove the bullets. He informed me that my “family” had left but only after they destroyed the labs and murdered what was left of my team. If not for Billy I wouldn’t still be alive. I once again, owe him my life.
