Entry 17

February 20th 2008 7:45 P.M.

My apologies yet again for my entry writing laxness. It is for good reason though, I assure you. All in all, if it weren’t for Billy I would be unable to write this entry on account of my being no longer among the living. Having died from perpetually falling in the white void that surrounds our three islands here in Technospace. I’ll skip the particulars of it but, It’ll suffice to say that a few of my colleagues blame Billy and I for that group of fools demise. They hurled me from the island. Then, before I could even imagine the death that awaited me, Billy caught me and pulled me to safety. I can not even begin to thank him for his actions. After saving me Billy convinced the ones that blamed us for the others death’s to change their tune. Billy didn’t actually harm them you understand, he doesn’t have it in him. He scared them by coating them in his nanobots and irritating their skin with miniscule pinches. It seem to be sufficient to get his point across.

I’ve almost forgotten about potential rescue. It’s been so long. Lianna my dear wife. Sarah, Vincent, be good for mommy. Daddy Leon will be home one day. Please don’t forget me.

Look at me getting all sentimental. In my last entry I mentioned a sample of the creature's exoskeleton, tissues and bodily fluids. Since then I have analyzed them, with startling results.

On earth some arthropods biomineralize metals to make their exoskeleton more durable, for example the Ironclad beetle. Well these creatures use a particular arrangement of carbon atoms. a tube-like structure that makes them nigh invulnerable. The bodily fluid however is exactly like that of arthropods in our world. It is hemolymph, which contains of course hemocyanin. The unfamiliar and the familiar, very strange indeed.
